Woke up to a beautiful clear, crisp morning in Edinburgh so got out for an early walk before boarding the tour bus to The Isle of Skye and headed off to the Isle of Skye for the night. First stop was at Scotland's biggest loch, Loch Lomond. From here we headed into the famous Scottish highlands and with it the weather changed to low cloud and drenching rain (according to our Scottish driver it was just drizzle). From what I could see out the window the scenery was stunning. Lichen covered trees yet to sprout their new leaves for spring. Loch after loch flanked by snow capped mountains passed by as we made our way further North. Our next major stop was the Eilean Donan castle, best known for being the castle in Highlander. The castle is situated at the border of three lochs which made it an important fortification in the old Scottish wars. Arrived at Skye for the night. Tomorrow the entire day is spent exploring Skye.
