Completed our Egyptian monuments with all of the temples of the 20th and 30th Dynasties and the Greek & Ptolemic periods (AKA Alexander the Great and Cleopatra!). Just wonderful. UNESCO moved the entire Philae temple complex to another island while the Philae Dam was being completed. Amazing. M held a cobra (minus its teeth and venom!). Highlight for today was a peaceful Felucca ride on the Nile and around Elephantine Island. The air here is clean and fresh, drivers aren’t nearly as crazy and despite what we’ve heard, the touts here are not nearly as aggressive. Ibrahim, our guide, took us around the Aswan markets this afternoon – full of spices and food. The Egyptians have the salted fish – soaked in salted water for a year before consumption!
