The Alabaster Mosque

A visit to Cairo is not complete without a visit to the Egyptian Museum and viewing the Royal Mummies and the amazing treasures of Tutankaman. The detail in each piece was incredible. The sheer number of artifacts was mind-blowing. After T discovered the Egyptian version of the chicken schnitzel roll we stopped at an aromatherapy and perfume factory (‘welcome drink’ again!) followed by a visit to the Alabaster mosque. A stop at the Bazaar was exhausting. Bargaining and hassling galore. Found one shop which we loved – no bargaining – just a lovely, clean, ordered shop with set prices – a welcome relief – the shop owner had the perfect marketing strategy for the western tourist!
