Ephesus

semi-overcast 24 °C

Entered the port of Kusadasi (pronounced “Kush-a-das-ehhhh”), a holiday resort port town 30 minutes from the Roman ruins of Ephesus and the area supposedly where the Virgin Mary spent her last years. A large number of hotels and resorts hugged the coast line and the ‘beach’ – a barely 200m stretch of ‘public beach’ near the hotels with course sand and more deck chairs than grains of sand I think. All this for one tiny beach! The ruins were excellent however – similar to Jerash, Jordan in scale. Almost lost Mum again today!
