A Travellerspoint blog

Play it again, Hassan!

semi-overcast

Yeah I know, but really what title did you expect from a blog in Casablanca!! Finally, I did not need to be up early so I enjoyed a leisurely start to the day. Once I finally got going I went back to Hassan II mosque for a tour inside this great structure. As expected just magnificent. Can you believe all the main doors are made of titanium so they are light, strong and will never rust from the salt atmosphere. It also has a retractable roof but was unfortunately closed this day. Afterward I went for a walk through the Casablanca medina, As expected I was soon lost within the maze of streets but unlike the malls in Dubai this was a great way to see the medina. Lunch was Tagine, I expect the first of many. It was so YUM! Again an easy afternoon to keep resting the foot, though it finally seems to be improving. Cheerio!
