Heavenly temples & heavenly haze

overcast

Another cloudy day but not much haze this morning. Went to the Temple of Heaven, a circular, multitiered temple that resembled something like a wedding cake. Like with most imperial monuments here in China, you enter multiple gates before you finally reach the main temple or palace. Another degustation lunch followed (we don't seemed to be using the full dollar amount allowed for by the tour company so the guide insists on us ordering more dishes - we really need to do some more exercise when we get home!). A visit to the Longing Pearl Store followed - M & T sucked in again! We walked around the Lama Temple complex, a Tibetian temple, full of so much burning incense that it created it's own haze just as the sun was coming out! Just don't mention the Dalai Lama! We then concluded our day at the night market complete with fried spider, scorpions, insects, snakes, grubs and all manner of amazing creatures for food.
