Touring combined with some R&R

sunny

Yesterday saw the Wheary travellers rise at 2:45am (yes you read correctly) to meet our driver for the trip to Pura Ulan Danu Bratan, a Balinese style temple situated on a picturesque lake.. M was keen to be there in time to capture the pre-dawn light. Thankfully it did not disappoint.

Once done we stopped at the UNESCO listed Jatiwulah rice terrace fields. Wow, even Miss T was impressed. We walked along the terraced fields watching the local farmers go about their morning work. One flooded terraced section was stunningly beautiful.

Back to the hotel by lunchtime for an afternoon swimming and sleeping by the pool.

Today was much more civilised. A sleep in, followed by a 1hr relaxation massage for A & Miss T. M did not miss out as after the massage she and Miss T each had a 45min facial. Lunch was at a small Balinese restaurant located off the beaten track. 2 Nasi Gorengs and fried chicken along with drinks for AU$10.00. The afternoon was again spent by the pool. In the late afternoon we caught a Taksi to Seminyak for some sunset pics on the beach followed by dinner at another authentic Balinese Warung, just this time a bit more ups market.
